Put up for adoption by his parents at birth and unable to find a suitable replacement family, Florence grew up wondering just what was wrong with him. Why didn't anybody like him? What had he ever done? Only just barely succeeding in Mexican schools and surrounded by peers involved in some sorts of criminal activities, he was amazed when an opportunity to travel further up north to the United States was presented to him. At first, he was weary at the idea, but when he realized that there was nothing for him in Río Blanco, he took up the offer.
Supported (barely) by the government until he was able to make his own income, Florence had a big decision to make. What the hell was he going to do with his life? After applying for U.S. citizenship, he realized what he wanted to strive to become; a police officer. He wanted to help stop crimes once and for all.
After successfully getting the job, however, he soon discovered that his boss was a complete dickhead, and wondered if he'd really made the right choice. The only reason he stayed was because of his partner, Aaron Prichard, who was the only person able to completely tolerate him.
